Sands of Time Collection

The Sands of Time is my current collection, a visual memoir told through ten paintings about memory, time, and the way life leaves its mark.
​
Each piece captures a shift, from youth into understanding, from motion into stillness, from survival into something that finally feels like legacy. Some works are complete, others are still taking shape, slowly revealing their story layer by layer.
​
Several paintings hold earth gathered from the desert itself, something new that I feel adds a dimension of connection to the true place and time the work was created. I have used the famous red dirt from Sedona and warm soil from the Valley of the Sun, pressed into texture and pigment so the land becomes part of the work and carries its own memory.

This is the piece that started it all, the spark that birthed the entire collection. Western Echoes stands as a powerful, elegant lead: a horse framed by iconic architecture and a landscape that whispers stories of grit, nostalgia, and quiet strength. It’s both familiar and surreal, grounding the viewer in place while hinting at memory, identity, and the invisible echoes that follow us through time.
It sold before it was even finished, a testament to the magnetism and emotional resonance it carries. This piece embodies the tone of the collection: rich in symbolism, rooted in beauty, and reaching beyond the canvas.

"Secrets of a Desert Dweller"

This piece explores the mythos of memory, slowness, and ancient wisdom through the lens of a desert turtle carrying a Western town on its back. The town is not abandoned, it is alive with quiet stories, people, horses, daily life continuing on as if the past is still moving with us, wherever we go.
This painting is about the sacred act of looking back, not to return, but to remember. It honors the weight of where we come from and the unseen ways it shapes where we’re going. The turtle becomes a moving monument: slow, wise, enduring carrying the legacy of a place and a people across time.
